Vita
Studied Rhythmics / Music & Movement Education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, specializing in special needs pedagogy and therapy. In 2013, she completed her second degree (MA) at the same institute, in the course of which she developed an artistic/pedagogic/research project in cooperation with the Centre de Atención Integral in the periphery of Bogotá (Columbia), which has at its core violence prevention and education for non-violence in socio-economically less privileged communities that had been affected by the armed conflicts and forced displacement. Her thesis was based on the results of this project and investigated the use of Columbian folklore as an element of Rhythmics that may strengthen identity and tolerance in groups of children from a migrant background.
Since 2007, she has been working as a teacher of Rhythmics with young children (starting from the age of 1) and adolescents in private institutions, kindergartens , as well as with adults. Some of the groups she worked with include people with different abilities. She has also worked as a trainer of adults at the Rhythmics Studio Vienna and has taught workshops in different Latin-American countries. Presently, she lives in Buenos Aires, where she is a member of the group Rítmica Viena and is also working as a freelancer in the area of special needs pedagogy and as a professor of Rhythmics at the CIC (Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica). |
Workshop
1st part of the workshop on Thursday 3rd September from 2:30 to 5:30pm Visible space? Audible space? revisiting space through rhythm Which images do we have of space when we don't see it? How do we perceive it through our other senses? Get to know and explore space using sight, sound and skin. Constantly perceiving the body from inside and recognizing structures with which we can see and listen to its form, size, character, sound, temperature and everything that may be added to this. Placing the body, the voice, sound, words and everything else we want to express and exhibit in a scene inevitably also means inhabiting a space. It is interesting to be aware of it, perceive it and get to know it independently from what we may want to use it for. Rhythm. It is in everything. Day, night, weeks, seasons, biologial processes, life itself. Without certain characteristics like repetition, periodicity, synchronicity, polarity, variation, continuity, irreversibility, order, among others, rhythm would not exist. In this workshop, we are going to use rhythm and its characteristics to increase conscience for the use of space in relation to the body and its expression. |
